Janet Barker
Simply put, I love doing hair. I have been styling hair for 28 years, the past seven here in the Triangle area. I've had my share of exposure working in salons in Denver, the Chicago area, and there was that stint in New Mexico...
Over the years, so many things about hair have changed (just look at your high school yearbook). But, part of the fun and challenge for me is staying on top of trends, technicques and changing tastes. That's why we, at Big Hair, continue to travel to seminars and conventions, always looking to give you our best.
Over the years, I have worked at perfecting a highlighting method that grows out beautifully and naturally. In most cases, color and highlights can be done at the same time. And, I usually can have you out the door in just an hour and a half.
I am often asked about the salon name. We had big hair in the 80's, the 90's ... we're still seeing it in one form or another. It never really goes away. Big hair bands, big southern hair... It's all good.

As a Master Stylist and licensed massage therapist, LMBT 5524, I try to be in tune with my clients. After a thorough consultation, I design hairstyles that compliment the shape of your face and hair colors that work naturally with your skin tones. I specialize in multi-color highlights and keep up with all the new trends in foil placement. And should something go wrong at another salon, come on in. I'm great at correcting color. Missy Edwards
I enjoy creating new styles and colors to fit your face. The most important person in the salon is the client, and communication is the key.
I love the reds. The trick is getting the right red, and the right placement of red in your highlights. I am also very familiar with natural curl. It’s a combination of the right cut and the right product to work with the seasons humidity. If you want to relax your curl, I can do that also.
I have training with Martin Parson, Aquage, and Redken. One of my personal favorites is formal up-dos for your special occasions. Come on in and meet the new you!

I'm a North Carolina native and an NC State graduate with a BS in Textile Chemistry. I've been a stylist for the past 12 years and I'm always traveling to continue my education in color, cut, and style. I have attended the Redken Exchange in NYC, the Redken Symposium in Las Vegas, the Vidal Sassoon Show in London, and the Orlando and Myrtle Beach hair expos. I'm a Redken Color Educator and a Rusk Color Specialist who likes to do it all from everyday looks to modern and trendy styles. I love to work with all hair types - curly, straight, thin, or thick. I also like chemical and mechanical straightening on ethnic hair. I enjoy creating updos for special occasions as well. Outside of work, my hobbies include traveling and singing.

I'm a Fuquay Varina native with seven years of experience as a stylist. I'm and Rusk and Redken color specialist and keep up with the latest trends at the yearly Myrtle Beach expo. I'm currently studying to receive my Educator License from the NC State Board of Cosmetic Arts.
I have a passion for precision cuts, including modern and edgy cuts that are trendy and compliment your face shape. I love color, from all over gray coverage to multi-color dimensional looks and I will work with you in our consultation to create a color scheme that is great for your skin tone and eye color. I enjoy special occasion upstyles and makeup application to leave you looking your best on your special day and even offer on site styling upon request!
My hobbies include spending time outdoors with my son, Graeson, and my dogs Sadie and Buddy. I love to sing every chance I get! I enjoy the beach, the mountains, and touring winerys. But, my favorite hobby is quality "girl time" with some amazing friends!

I'm a Carolina girl with a passion for doing hair! I attended Mitchell's Academy in Raleigh and have been a stylist for four years with Advanced Redken training in client consultation to give your cut and color a personalized look. I always take every client's lifestyle, face shape, coloring, and hair texture into account to give my clients the greatest results.
I love razor cuts and working with thick, unruly, or curly hair, but fine and thin hair is a challenge I also enjoy. I can create every style, from the traditional to the wild and funky! As a Redken Color/Art Expert, I love using multiple colors and placement techniques to create dimensional looks! I'm certified in the Bio Ionic Straightening System (formaldehyde free!), and specialize in relaxers, updos, and special occasion styles. I'm also an expert in Privana Vivid Color for creating bright and true color looks.
When I'm not at work, I love reading, shopping, playing with my two sons, decorating, and pretty much anything creative!
